Digital otoscope for iPhone (Firefly): guide and troubleshooting

With the digital otoscope, your doctor sees a real-time image of your ear canal during a remote appointment. This guide covers the Firefly DE570 for iPhone and iPad. Android has its own model and its own guide.

How to connect the otoscope to an iPhone

How to use the otoscope

1. Fit a clean ear tip on the otoscope before you bring it to your ear.
2. Gently bring the otoscope into your ear canal. Don't press hard, and don't push it deeper than is comfortable.
3. Your doctor sees the same image you do and tells you how to move the device.
4. When the examination is done, remove the ear tip and throw it away.

If something goes wrong

• The image doesn't open. Connection troubleshooting is coming later. Until then, contact customer support.
• The otoscope doesn't work with your phone. Check that you have the right version. This model only works with iPhone and iPad.
• The image is blurry. Turn the focus wheel all the way to one end, then turn it back in small steps until the image is sharp.
• The image is too dark or too bright. Adjust the light with the otoscope's own control.
